Biking, meanwhile, earns a dime per mile. That isn’t a huge sum, but if hundreds of thousands—maybe millions—of people download the application? The dimes might start to add up.
CharityMiles still has some work to do, including attracting more charities. The company is putting up one million US dollars to fund itself, and its creators are confident that they will attract several sponsors soon. Whether or not CharityMiles gets more funding or attracts more charities, it’s certainly a new way to encourage green living and aid good causes.
