资源简介

A

For almost every theme park, you just need to buy an entrance ticket, meaning that, once you’re inside, everything is totally free. That is, except all the other stuff you end up buying. Every few metres, you find yourself stopping to buy high-priced theme-park food, theme-park clothing, and even theme-park photographs of yourself looking theme-park ugly. It’s like you’re just throwing all your money into the theme-park air. You just can’t help yourself!

Everybody’s IQ drops at theme parks. Really smart people stand in line for two hours so they can go on a 90-second ride. They do this because everybody else is doing it, and because they paid for it, and because they don’t want to think about anything but having fun!

Every year, we return to Florida to visit the theme parks. Last year, we went to Disney World, which is said to be “Where Dreams Come True”. Our 3-year-old daughter probably agrees. She loves Disney World because she gets to meet Mickey Mouse in person. She sometimes meets Mickey three or four times a day, and he always acts really thrilled and surprised to see her, as if he doesn’t remember that he just met her 45 minutes earlier. Mickey’s a little slow, if you ask me.

Our daughter’s favourite thing about Disney World is when we go to “character breakfasts”, where, while you’re eating, top Disney stars—including Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, and Winnie the Pooh—come to your table and make excited gestures. Our daughter believes these characters are real—that she is actually meeting the real Cinderella, Pooh, etc. These are huge celebrities(名人) in her world. You can imagine what this must feel like to her.

Yes, Florida is a magical place, a fun place, and a place that we will have to return to next year. They’re opening a major new attraction: Spawn World. My daughter can’t wait.
