Raised by surfers in Hawaii, Bethany Hamilton was born to be in the water and began competing professionally as a young child. However, at 13, she lost her arm in a shark attack. One month later she was back on her surfboard with a determined spirit and positive attitude. She wrote about her experience in the autobiography (自传) Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family and Fighting to Get Back on the Board.
