Many of traditional Chinese festivals have existed for a long time. The Spring Festival is regarded as the most important for Chinese people. We make great efforts to decorate our houses with flowers,lanterns and fancy paper-cuts. Sometimes wecomplainabout being tired, but we feel the joy in heart. People used to set off fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Falling on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, the Dragon Boat Festival is another important festival inhonourof the great poet Qu Yuan. We mark the special occasion with dragon boat races which attract visitors both at home and overseas. People activelyparticipate in the competitions with great enthusiasm. During the Lantern Festival, people arerequested to guess lantern riddles. Nowadays, it’s widely admitted that celebrating Chinese festivals is becoming a global phenomenon.
